T ender Loving Care groups are small groups of 10-25 people that gather weekly to worship, pray for one another, discuss the sermon, minister to each other, encourage and simply enjoy one another. These small groups are central to the way we do church at Joy. We believe that it is the best way to provide a context for real community and ministry. Many people who have been a part of a group say the greatest benefit is the close friendships that develop. Sometimes the large number of people in our Sunday church services can be overwhelming when you are new and trying to find where you fit in. We are created with a need for relationship, not only with God, but also with other people. So how do you go about building genuine relationships with others at Joy? One way is to get involved with a small group. As the name indicates, the TLC groups' main goal is to learn to love and care for one another in Christ. God never meant for you to go it alone in the Christian life. TLC groups meet after church services on Sundays. We encourage everyone to join a TLC group. If you are not participating in a small group then contact one of the TLC leaders and get information on when and where the group is meeting this Sunday. We have many different groups with special themes such as: discipleship, the marketplace, missions, etc. So feel free to visit some and then dive in! Take a look for yourself.
