T he Food Ministry's mission is to provide a positive, refreshing experience to everyone who attends or visits Joy Church by providing good refreshments. On special ocassions, we decorate, make, buy, and setup the hospitality stations for special worship services and seminars. Sharing food has always been one of the best ways to bring friends and family together and to create and sustain bonds. In this way, the ministry aims to bring our Joy family closer together and to enable meaningful fellowship through the breaking of bread with one another. The ministry also allows good opportunities to serve and link up with other Joy members and TLCs.We accept ownership and responsibility for God's gifts to us: our community and our facilities. By serving God and His people with excellence and with joy, the Food Ministry plays a part in our church's overall mission to outreach to people. We never forget that we serve for His glory. Time commitment: approximately 45 minutes before and after Sunday service. Ministry members follow a weekly rotation in teams of 2 or 3 each week. 34Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. 35For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.' 37Then the righteous will answer him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? 38And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? 39And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?' 40And the King will answer them, 'Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.' (Matthew 25:34-40) We always encourage and welcome more hands and hearts to serve with the Food Ministry. This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it |
